Pets and assistance animals acknowledgment I understand that ordinary pets and assistance animals are treated differently for classification and accommodation purposes. Pet rent and a nonrefundable pet fee apply to any animal kept in the unit, including an approved assistance animal, ESA, or service animal; these charges are standard for animal-related wear and damage. If I claim an emotional support animal as an exception to a no-pets rule, I must provide documentation from a treating health care provider, and GRE will verify that documentation before approving the request. Online ESA certificates without a treating-provider relationship are not accepted alone. I remain liable for any damage caused by an animal I keep, including an assistance animal. I understand this application does not grant pet or assistance-animal approval until GRE completes its review. *
